Getting started

Free WhatsApp chat to PDF converter online

You can start converting a WhatsApp chat to PDF online at no cost. The free part gives you a full preview; the paid part is a 24-hour pass that lets you download the finished file.

What is free and what is paid

The honest answer to "is it free?" is that conversion and preview are free and the download is paid. On ChatIntoPDF you upload your export, choose a style and look at a full preview of the PDF before you pay anything. Nothing is charged until you decide the result is right.

• Free: uploading your .txt or .zip, choosing a style and reviewing the full preview
• Paid: a 24-hour pass from $1.99 to download the PDF
• Higher tiers also add inline photos and a full-size gallery, and the top tier adds Excel and CSV output

What the 24-hour pass covers

One payment gives you 24 hours in which you can convert as many chats as you like. There is no account to create and no subscription to cancel. When the pass ends, nothing renews on its own.

Why preview first

A preview is the cheapest way to check a conversion. Look for names that split oddly, dates out of order or media that did not attach. If something looks off, re-export the chat with or without media and convert it again. Checking before you pay saves you from buying a file you cannot use.

Step by step

1. Export the chat from WhatsApp. Use Without media for a light file, or Include media if you want photos.
2. Open chatintopdf.com and add the .txt or .zip.
3. Pick a style: Classic, Clean, Formal or Book.
4. Scroll through the full free preview from the first message to the last.
5. If you are satisfied, buy the 24-hour pass and download the PDF.

Free alternatives and their trade-offs

You can also copy text into a word processor and print it, or use a generic text-to-PDF tool. Those methods are free but leave the layout to you. Bubbles, dates, sender names and media are not handled for you, long chats are hard to scan and photos are usually missing. A dedicated converter does that work, so compare the preview quality before you decide.

Privacy while converting

Chat exports can hold personal and business information. ChatIntoPDF processes the file in your browser and does not upload it during conversion, so a free preview does not put the chat on a server. Keep the finished PDF somewhere safe anyway, because anyone who has it can read the conversation.

Who the free tier suits

The free preview suits anyone who wants to test the output before committing: a student checking a group project chat, someone archiving a family group, or a small team reviewing a client conversation. If the preview meets your needs, the pass covers any further chats you convert in the following 24 hours.
